Writing a folk tale graphic organizer
You may want to use stories that are part of students' textbook anthologies or available in your school or town libraries.
Are the characters human or animal? Have students label the center of the spider map "Literature" or "Stories. I ask the class to write these into their graphic organizer right away. If there are fewer computers than students, group the students by reading level. Does the story take place long ago?
